What is PM-WANI and about its implementation?
Four things are going to play a role in PM-WANI. First is. PDOS means PUBLIC DATA OFFICES, second PDOAS means PUBLIC DATA OFFICE AGGREATORS, third APP PROVIDERS, and fourth is CENTRAL REGISTRY.
Under the scheme of PM-WANI, 1 crore data centers will be opened to provide Wi-Fi services in far flung areas. And these data centers will be called PDOS i.e. PUBLIC DATA OFFICES. Anyone can apply for PDOS.
Whether it is a restaurant, whether it is a small shopkeeper or a good shopkeeper. Anyone can apply for this. No license will be kept for applying in this scheme.

For example, if you have a grocery store near you, and it gets WIFI installed in it. So that PDOS will be converted.
And he can set up his shop as a SPOT. Like you used to call on PCO. And used to go to the cyber cafe to use the internet. Similarly by staying around these PDOS. You can get internet access in your mobile laptop.
PM-WANI
Any shopkeeper can apply for PDOS. No fee will be required to be paid for registration. PDOS connection will be given at your shop within 7 days of registration. And your shop will be given the status of PDOS.
Now know from where the internet on PDOS will come. That is, the internet access you will be given. From where will they get that internet access. They will get internet access from the local internet provider. For example, take it from a company like Airtel, BSNL, jio fiber etc. which is already providing internet in that area.

PDOS will first buy the internet from the provider in your area. And after that you will have it delivered to you.
Now let’s come to PDOAS, what is this PDOAS, what will it reduce, what is PDOAS, it will see the supervision of PDOs and will see its authorization. And will take care of accounting.
Now to connect your mobile laptop to WIFI and to know you PDOS, you have to download its app in your mobile. After which you will know you.

This app and website will be maintained by APP PROVIDERS.
Now we know what the central registration will do. Which is CENTRAL REGISTRY. There are public data offices, there are public data aggregators, and the app is provided, will maintain the details of all these. And this which is the CENTRAL REGISTRY will come under CDAC.
Will internet be available for free?
Many people must be feeling that with this plan you will get internet for free. But it is not so. You will not get internet free from this plan. The PDOS that will be put in this scheme. With that PDOS you can use as much internet as you want. But you have to take a plan, not his. Only after that you will get internet access.
If you want to setup WIFI at your home. So for that you have to pay Rs.2000/- to Rs.2500/-. But you will not have to install WIFI step at your home in this plan. You can get internet access directly from any PDOS near your home. You will use Sirif which is the internet. You will have to pay Shrif for the same.
Why the need for PM-WANI?
Due to covid-19, a lot of work has been made online. Due to which the need for internet has increased. In view of this, the government has started PM-WANI. Under this scheme, 1 crore PDOS centers will be built in the country.
